Time tracking and timesheets
Log time with a timer or by hand, mark it billable, and approve and export timesheets.
Updated 3 October 2026
Before you start
Time is logged to a project timesheet. On a project, open the Timesheets tab and select Create Timesheet. In a task list's settings, tick Enable time tracking and choose the timesheet so its tasks log there.
Use the timer
- On a task, select Start Timer. You can pause and resume it.
- Select Stop, describe what you worked on and choose Billable or Non-billable.
Log time by hand
Select Log Time on a task. Enter the date and the hours and minutes, add a description and choose the billable status. People who manage time can log it for someone else.
Billable, non-billable and billed
Each entry can be Billable, Non-billable, Billed or Void. Mark entries as Billed from Time Reports once you have invoiced them.
See and approve time
- My Time shows your own hours by day, week, month or year.
- Time Reports (owners and admins by default) shows everyone's time, with billable hours and amounts.
- Approvals lets owners, admins and project managers approve or send back time. Approving a week locks that person's time for the week. Nobody approves their own time.
Export
Time Reports has Export CSV and Excel. A timesheet page has the same, with quick ranges such as this week or last month.
